Badger hair is all imported from China now. There are three main grades: "Silver Tip" is the highest, "Fine" is the middle and "Pure" is the low end, but the quality desgnation is only by convention so it varies from one supplier to another. This is listed as "Silver-Tip" so it should be the very best and softest, fluffiest badger hair. It is very nice for a price that won't break the bank, but it is not exceptionally nice, as I would expect "Silver Tip" badger to be. To be fair neither are most other "Silver Tip" brushes that I have found. It is far, far better brush then "The Art of Shaving" version which breathtakingly more money, but it is also on par with "Wet Shaving Products" mid line "Finest" brush which costs considerably less.EDIT: May, 2022After many satisfatory years of use it was time to replace this brush. I was disappointed to see the price increase so I sought out another brand here on Amazon. I gave the Je&Co Fine Silvertip brush a try and I like it very much.
